Misal Pav

Misal Pav is a popular Marathi dish from Maharashtra, India. The main ingredients for this is misal which is a spicy curry made from sprouted Moth bean (Matki), Pav or Indian bun and topped with Farsan – a spicy mixture of various savouries made out of gram flour, peanuts, and pulses and chopped onion and coriander leaves.

There are many variants of Misal Pav based on the locations they originated in. There is Puneri Misal, Nashik Misal and a super spicy Kolhapuri Misal. The main secret to the unique taste of the Misal is Goda masala. A traditional maharashtrian masala made from many spices – some roasted, some dried and some fried in oil.
